Jack has more than 35 years of consulting and management experience serving global electric and gas utility markets. His special focus is on deregulation, competitive positioning, and the management of change. He also has extensive expertise in strategic planning, organizational effectiveness and asset and performance management. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and is well known for his perspectives on industry strategic directions.
Prior to founding UMS Group, Jack was a senior member of Booz Allen & Hamilton's utility practice.
He also served for 11 years in various leadership capacities at two major U.S. east coast utilities. Jack holds a professional engineer's license and a M.B.A. in finance from New York University.
Mr. Cummings has over 37 years of consulting experience in engineering, strategic and operational planning for vertically integrated investor-owned utilities and municipalities in North America, the Middle East and Australia. Key areas of Jeff’s work include grid modernization, project and portfolio management across all core business functions, T&D system reliability, electric generation performance optimization, capital investment planning and prioritization, asset strategy and plan development, organizational transformations, and regulatory strategy; and when called upon, has offered expert testimony, most recently for one Canadian Provincial Utility, Israel, and four U.S. State Regulatory jurisdictions.
Prior to joining UMS Group, Mr. Cummings held leadership positions at Vectra Technologies (formerly Pacific Nuclear) and started his career working for Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation. He holds an M.S. degree in Operations Research for the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and a B.S. degree from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.
Ennio Senese is the Managing Director and group board member of UMS Group, a US-based consultancy boutique for the energy industry. www.UMSgroup.com In addition he is a non-executive advisor to GEP consultancy. Prior to this, he was a strategy advisor to ILF, as well as an interim Vice President until January 2018, based in Munich. From November 2010 until February 2016, Ennio was the Chief Executive Officer of a private equity group, focused on mid-and downstream acquisitions, and held various MD positions on their behalf. In addition, Ennio holds various non-exec board and advisory positions with NGOs and charities in Europe. From June 2008 until January 2012 Ennio served as the Executive Managing Partner leading Accenture’s Resources practice in the East Mediterranean, based in Rome with offices in Athens and Istanbul.
Prior to Accenture, he was an Executive Director with Shell Global Solutions, focusing on the third party and JV business of Shell globally, but specifically the Med and Turkey, in addition to being Chairman of Shell Services Italy and board member of Shell Italy, where he has worked for ten years, including three years as an external Strategy consultant.
Furthermore, Ennio has held positions with two big five Consulting companies for more than 14 years and has 37 years of international experience of which 26 years specifically in the Energy industry, with a focus on Strategy, Procurement, M&A, and Performance Improvement in the areas of Reliability and Efficiency in the manufacturing and distribution domain. He has successfully led and participated, among others, in a variety of change implementations and efficiency programs in the Oil and Gas industry.
Ennio studied law and Business Management in Amsterdam and London and holds a Master's degree in International Law. In September 2013 Ennio was awarded a DBA after having completed a three-year executive program with the Universities of California and San Jose’ ( UNEM). He has completed several professional and certifying courses with US and European Universities and is a certified and qualified negotiator. He is a fellow of the Energy Institute, of which he was also the Chairman for Europe, a Fellow of the International Institute of Management Consultants, and a former committee member of the Oil Council. He is furthermore a participative member of the Alumni association of the University of Amsterdam and international NGOs in the areas of inter-religious dialogue, Humanitarian aid, and environmental preservation. He has received decorations and honors from various international organizations, among which from Royal houses and supranational organizations.
Ed joined UMS Group Europe In 2007. He has over 20 years of international consulting and management experience serving the energy and utility sector and has significant in-depth knowledge of the international utilities sector. Ed fulfilled different positions as manager in major Energy and Utility companies, as well as different senior roles in international management consulting firms.
His current focus area is in the Energy Transition, especially in the area of Strategic Asset Management. He is supporting his business partners understanding the impact of digitalization and guiding them in the transformation towards “Data driven Asset Management”.
Prior to UMS Group Ed fulfilled managerial roles within an Energy Utility company and management consulting roles within a global ICT company. His drivers are to understand complex situations, design pragmatic solutions and embedding these into the organizations. Ed holds a Master of Science degree in Business Administration (Management of Innovation) from the Rotterdam School of management, Erasmus University and a Bachelor degree in Engineering.
Steve has 30 years of consulting and management experience with the last 23 years spent in the electric and gas utility industries. He has significant expertise in asset management, performance improvement, organizational design, and strategic planning, and has published dozens of analytical reports on utility industry topics. He plays a key role in both UMS Group's Asset Management and Utility Performance Optimization Practices and has assisted numerous utilities in improving both their asset management capabilities and the efficiency and effectiveness of their field operations. He developed and leads UMS Group's client-sponsored benchmarking and best practice studies area which provides facilitated utility industry research and forums to assist utilities in understanding industry trends and sharing best practices.
Prior to joining UMS Group, Mr. Morris was a Senior Consultant for Andersen Consulting and a Director for Navigant Consulting. He also founded Research Reports International, a business focused on providing data and information on key issues facing the industry to electric and gas utility executives. He holds a B.A. in Economics and an M.B.A., both from Cornell University.
Doug has a broad experience across the entire utility platform. Over the past 30 years, he has worked in Nuclear Power, Fossil Generation, Electric and Gas Operations, Customer Service and Corporate Executive Management. Over the past 10 years, Doug has been serving dozens of utilities across America and abroad as a management consultant. His specialty is to quickly find the source of performance issues and coaching senior leaders to improve both operational and asset performance issues. As a Lean Sigma Master Blackbelt, Doug brings a toolbox full of tools to not only help leaders improve, but sustain high levels of performance. Using his Business Degree, Doug has also helped companies through complex business and regulatory issues.
Prior to joining UMS Group, Doug held executive and leadership positions at NiSource, DTE Energy and USIC. He holds a B.S. degree in Business Management and Is a Lean Sigma Master Blackbelt.
