Jack has more than 35 years of consulting and management experience serving global electric and gas utility markets. His special focus is on deregulation, competitive positioning, and the management of change. He also has extensive expertise in strategic planning, organizational effectiveness and asset and performance management. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and is well known for his perspectives on industry strategic directions.
Prior to founding UMS Group, Jack was a senior member of Booz Allen & Hamilton's utility practice.
He also served for 11 years in various leadership capacities at two major U.S. east coast utilities. Jack holds a professional engineer's license and a M.B.A. in finance from New York University.
Mr. Cummings has over 37 years of consulting experience in engineering, strategic and operational planning for vertically integrated investor-owned utilities and municipalities in North America, the Middle East and Australia. Key areas of Jeff’s work include grid modernization, project and portfolio management across all core business functions, T&D system reliability, electric generation performance optimization, capital investment planning and prioritization, asset strategy and plan development, organizational transformations, and regulatory strategy; and when called upon, has offered expert testimony, most recently for one Canadian Provincial Utility, Israel, and four U.S. State Regulatory jurisdictions.
Prior to joining UMS Group, Mr. Cummings held leadership positions at Vectra Technologies (formerly Pacific Nuclear) and started his career working for Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation. He holds an M.S. degree in Operations Research for the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and a B.S. degree from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.
Jan joined UMS Group Europe in 2007. He has built up in depth knowledge in energy generation, transmission and distribution in over 25 years working experience in the Energy and Utility market. Jan fulfilled different positions as senior manager in major Energy and Utility companies, as well as different senior roles in international management consulting firms. He is internationally recognized as a thought leader in Asset Management.
His current focus area is in the Energy Transition, especially in the area of Asset Management. He is helping his business partners understanding the impact of Big Data and Internet of Things and guiding them in the transformation toward future “Data driven Asset Management”.
Prior to joining UMS Group, he spent five years as the Managing Director, Asset Management of Infrastructures (Electricity, Gas, Water) for the largest DSO in the Netherlands. His drivers are the understanding of complex situations, finding creative solutions and transferring these into success implementations He holds a Master of Science degree in Physics from the University of Twente (NL).
Remco is a senior energy industry executive with a passion for combining technical insights and commercial excellence. He has in-depth knowledge across the energy value chain, including asset management, asset operations, portfolio optimization, energy trading, deal origination and risk management. He combines expert understanding of stakeholder drivers and objectives with a proven track record in business development and optimized technical & commercial asset utilization, for a wide range of asset classes.
Before joining UMS Group Europe in 2012, he held various positions in asset backed trading and business development with Essent (now RWE). He has experience with risk & value assessment for investors, utilities & energy intensive industry in Europe, Russia, China, Australia and Latin America. He is fluent in Dutch, English, German and Slovak.
