UMS Helps AEP Drive
CAPEX Value Through Aggressive Spend Optimization
Program
Parsippany, New Jersey – UMS Group Inc. (UMS) and American Electric Power (AEP) today announced the formation of a collaboration of North American utilities to assess efficiency and service level performance and best practices in electric distribution, customer service/operations and technology support of these functions.
The multi-utility assessment will investigate the efficiency and service level performance as well as the processes and practices that link asset management, distribution operations, call center operations and the revenue cycle. The information systems and technology support of these processes will also be assessed to identify best-in-class applications; IS/IT practices being deployed by the best performers and planned application migration strategies.
Invitations to participate in the group are being sent to the largest utilities in North America and to selected utilities recognized for leading-edge operations. The program will be launched in the First Quarter of 2005 after final input on the program scope and cost is approved by participants. The initial phase of the program will culminate in late 2005 in a confidential written report to each participant and a series of workshops to allow exchange of insights gained in the study.
Utility representatives, who may not have been in receipt of an invitation package, may request one by email addressed to ddurante@umsgroup.com
