Q: What academic background do I need to be a consultant?
A: We hire from a wide range of academic backgrounds, although the majority come from
quantitative disciplines such as engineering and economics. We also have people on staff who
have backgrounds in history, political science, business and a number of other liberal arts areas.
Key skills for success at UMS include excellent writing, quantitative analysis, communication and personal time management skills.

Q: From which colleges and universities does UMS Group recruit?
A: UMS group targets a few colleges for on-campus recruiting of Business Analysts each year. However, we do not limit ourselves or our people by restricting candidates by university. If you

Q: Do I need an MBA to advance to a senior position at UMS Group?
A: Not necessarily. While many of our staff have MBA's, it is not a requirement for advancement.
Your job performance and capability to make further contributions to the company are given far
more weight in advancement decisions.

Q: What if I want to work at one of UMS Group's offices in a country other than my own?
A: One benefit of working at UMS Group is that we have both international clients and offices. We frequently exchange analysts and consultants among our three main offices in New Jersey,
Melbourne and the United Kingdom. The exchange periods typically last from three to six to twelve months depending on assignments, client requirements, expertise required, and the interests
of the specific employee.
