UMS to Sponsor Infrastructure Asset Management Exchange
For the sixth time, UMS Group will sponsor the Infrastructure Asset Management Exchange to be held March 21-23, 2011 in London. The Exchange is a gathering where senior executives from leading corporations in the Utility, Transport, Aviation, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Nuclear, Major Industrial, Manufacturing and Central Infrastructure sectors come together to discuss trends and state-of-the-art solutions to Asset Management issues.
UMS Group will moderate two workshops at this event. The first will present its views on the relationship between smart generation, smart grids and smart meters, and how they can all be integrated into a smart portfolio investment strategy for grid modernization programs. The second will be a discussion on the topic “Life after PAS 55 certification.” Now that UK utilities have been certified as mandated, interest in improving management of assets in that country using PAS 55 as a driver has slowed down. However, the same is not true everywhere. UMS Group will lead a discussion of utilities which are voluntarily pursuing certification, such as those in Belgium, Canada, Finland, Norway and The Netherlands, and how those utilities have continued to drive improvement in managing their assets.
