October 15, 2007 UMS Chosen as Finalist for the IET 2007 Innovation in Engineering Award Parsippany, NJ – UMS Group announced today it has been named as a finalist in the Asset Management category of the Institution of Engineering and Technology’s 2007 Innovation in Engineering Awards. The IET is one of the world’s leading professional societies for the engineering and technology community. The IET has more than 150,000 members in 127 countries and has offices in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. The Institution provides a global knowledge network to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas and promotes the positive role of Science, Engineering and Technology in the world. The annual IET Innovation in Engineering Awards celebrate the products, technologies and processes that lead the way in engineering innovation. The Asset Management category is organized by the Asset Management Network, the IET’s joint venture with the Institute of Asset Management. The Asset Management category is open to organizations that have demonstrated innovation in the use of Asset Management tools and techniques and has delivered financial or safety benefits. The Asset Management submissions are judged on originality, cost optimization, impact on risk, implementation, impact on employees, integration and asset knowledge. UMS Group's entry, "EDF Energy Investment Optimization Tool and Process Installation," is one of four entries shortlisted in the Asset Management category. Category winners will be announced at the IET Awards presentation evening and celebration dinner, to be held on Tuesday 13th November 2007 at The Marriott Grosvenor Square, London.
